Time to Shift Your Boats!

Sadly another summer sailing season is reaching its end, and it is time to get moving. On the plus side we are planning our first 'Laying up Supper' in more than a while so watch out for a social events update.

In the meantime -

The West Compound cruiser 'lift-out' takes place on the 4/5th Nov 2025.

Before this, as you may be aware we have the HYGA Harker's Yard Gig Racing here on Sunday 26th Oct for the first event in this year's winter race series, what has become a fantastic annual event for Club since we first hosted in 2017. There will be around twenty visiting Gigs along with the Club Gigs William Rose and Hunter.

So the West compound needs to be cleared of all craft from the floor by Friday, 24th Oct.

As you may be aware, it is mandatory that all craft(s) are marked with the owners' club membership number where it is visible in the stored position.

All oars stored in the shed must be similarly marked.

Members preparing and launching trailer sailors, day boats, and micros are requested to keep the compound clear and remove road trailers as soon as possible after launching.

All users of the compound are reminded that we (The Stour Sailing Club) are legally responsible for the use of the flood gate from the West compound, especially its closure when the risk of flooding exists. Please continue to follow the standing instructions and secure the floodgate if you are not 100% sure that someone will be using the entrance in the immediate future.

Your co-operation is appreciated.

Anthony (Gus) Wilde

Compound Manager
