HYGA Winter Series Round 1 - 27th September

In three weeks time, on Sunday 27th September the Club will once again be hosting the first event in the Harkers Yard Gig Association winter race series. We had to cancel last years event at the last minute for the first time ever due to the weather, so we are hoping that the winds are kinder to us this year

The Club Gigs William Rose and Hunter will be taking part with around 20 other Gigs from thirteen rowing and sailing Clubs around the Essex Coast. High Water on the day is 1:22pm and we will be serving breakfast butties from 9am and racing from around 12:10pm, with sprint races for mens, womens and mixed crews, then finishing with hot food under the Marquee and Prize Giving.

Come along to watch and see what Gig racing is all about. The Gigs en masse are a spectacle on the water and the racing is very competitive.
