'Last Orders' for Debbages
Published 18:22 on 23 Mar 2026
A huge thank-you to Debbages who first did the cranage here over 30 years ago, and have just completed their last lift-in ever. Sadly, they are having to close their business and whatever happens next, it's the end of an era for all of us, and we all definitely felt 'the moment'.
It was also quite fitting that David Cleveland's launch, Wyenot Too (of course now owned and looked after by Tim), as one of the first boats lifted into the compound all those years ago, was also the last boat lifted out of the compound today. Even better - David came by to mark the occasion, and to check-up on how well Tim is looking after her!
Thank you especially to Will, who has orchestrated the process for longer than he cares to admit to, and Pete TK and to the Safety Boat (towing, water ferry) crews - you all make it look easy when it really is not.
Here is looking forward to another wonderful year on the water as we celebrate the Club's 90th anniversary year - and we will have a fitting out event shortly so watch out for details.
