The Club Sailing Boat Loan System:-

The Stour Sailing Club currently has a Topper which can be used by members for a nominal sum by following the procedure and rules below:-
i) Anyone wishing to use the club sailing boat must be on the list of approved users before any loan can occur and agree to adhere to a simple set of rules. If you wish to add your name to the approved user list please download the application form below

and return it to the Training Officer at the Stour Sailing Club – you will then be notified of the result and the procedure for using club boats.

  • All bookings are on a first come first served basis with no less than 48 hours notice. Repeat, longer-term bookings may be refused so that all can gain benefit in as fair a way as possible.
  • The charge of £5 for ½ day (one tide) is due in advance, and is towards the cost of maintenance and repair. NB. It is perfectly acceptable for more than one approved user to book sessions together to enjoy sailing together.
  • Although the boat can be used by juniors under the watchful eye of their parents, please note that bookings can only be made by members who are 18 or over.
  • Any parent making a booking for one of their children who is less than 18 agrees, by requesting that booking, to be present at all times and that they take full responsibility for their child’s welfare and safety at all times – no exceptions.
  • The Stour Sailing club is offering the sailing boat for suitably experienced members to use at their own risk, and in no way, shape, or form does it accept liability for any incidents caused by so doing. Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times, and if you do not have the requisite experience to use such a boat please do not ask to borrow it.
  • You may not pass the boat to someone else to use during your own loan period.
  • If you are unfortunate and do break something, or worse, have an accident of any sort – inform the Training Officer immediately so that other users can be advised, and/or so the damage can be repaired. Failure to do this will cause you to be removed from the approved user list.
  • Anyone using the boat outside of the above requirements will be deemed to have taken the boat without permission.
