Hi all
Not a lot to inform you of this week,
Its now got back into the silly season and loads of youngster like and will attend the beach are . For some reason again they like to hide up on the quay and the new game is mud balling where access to our pontoons gateways and signage are splattered with mud.
Should you see this horseplay going on please don’t put yourself into any compromising situations and if you can speak diplomatically to them, it would be helpful and tell them that the police have been informed and they will be attending irregular visits, and that the area is not best suited for general play activities.
No other criminal activities to report from Essex Police and crime reports
The Bar will be open this evening and Richard will be spinning stories of what was hopefully a fantastic holiday and lots of tales he will be sharing whilst pouring drinks. Welcome back Richard!!
My last blog mentioned a small work group completing some outstanding bits at the club and around the estate so if anyone is free on Saturday morning for a few hours to lend a hand from 9.45 for 10.00 start we will be pleased to see you. If you have tools bring them along and also gloves bucket and sponge and Be prepared for anything don’t wear your best stuff.
I attended the HHA AGM last evening which was outlining the further developments at the Port of Felixstowe and the Harwich Haven and also the growth in the HHA activities where we are now have some of the largest ships visiting our areas in the world with drafts exceeding 17.8 mts which is the height of 4 double decker buses below the water line, so it was quite an eye opener on what the daily routines are for their staff and engineering teams in the provisions needed to make this all happen on our door step and also what to be aware of.!
Some local cruisers are attending Levington for lunch on Saturday, contact David Lodge should you also wish to attend.
Our rowers last week had an interesting row and rowed from Orford to Snape for a change in scenery in Hunter and Lt Washington an interesting challenge and enjoyed by all i understand.
