FISHING COMPETITION RESULTS
The 2nd SSC Fishing Competition took place on 21 June and had an entry of 17 fishermen.
The weather forecast was really great with plenty of sunshine throughout forecast. The day started at 7.00 am for a hardy breakfast of bacon, sausage and egg sandwiches and plenty of tea and coffee superbly prepared by Bob Leeds.
The group set off on the morning tide for a full day’s fishing.

Home again on the evening tide the results were very mixed – although I am sure everyone would like to know Alan’s secret – as follows:
Following the weigh-in – overseen by David Warner – everyone adjourned to the bar and a hearty meal – prepared by Linda Warner, Mary Hodgson, Sylvia Jiggins and Sarah Howlett – of Meat Pie, Vegetable Pie, Lasagne and vegetables followed by fruit crumble and custard or ice cream.
We were delighted to be joined for the meal by other club members swelling the numbers to around 30 for the meal.

The day was extremely enjoyable for all concerned – even those who did not manage to win anything. To everyone’s great delight the day achieved a total of £132.10 was raised which will be split evenly between the nominated charities – the Air Ambulance and the RNLI.
