Good afternoon Everyone!

It’s been a bit of a up down week and you have all received enough e mail correspondence recently keeping you informed of the latest events and changes etc. Please read as some if not all will concern you !

So, I’m going to just give you some soft touches of topics not covered.

I haven’t done this lately as it tends to get forgotten about, and I am not one that takes thing for granted. Our bar and facilities are open daily and without the people who open up, and close and look after our bar,  this would not be possible so thanks for looking after the facilities and also all the members that can use it.

Also, to our cleaners they only come in twice a week so its important that if we do make a load of mess that we also clean up behind ourselves and not to leave it till their next attendance.

Wednesday saw this month’s Coffee and Cake once again very well supported, someone raised a point ‘Why doesn’t the Commodore attend?’  It’s because he’s still hard at it and working I am afraid,  and commitments won’t permit me unfortunately. However always thinking of you the attendees, and getting told what a wonderful time you’re having, plus side I do get to sample the sausage rolls prior to the event. The surplus monies raised on this occasion were £111.00 and these are being passed on this month to the Manningtree Food Bank, so well done all.

Thanks also to Dominic for doing the bar also that evening.

The posters are up, and I’ve mentioned before the Photographic competition and the Mike Moss trophy for the best written blog about an experience,  passage, or water challenges for sharing and the winning article will find itself published and included within 2024 edition of Bowsprit. Entries need to be in by 23rd Dec and categories are all on the website and on how to enter.

As an early heads up our committee again sees our volunteer level being depleted. Our Sailing secretary both Racing and Cruising,  Evie Clements / Roberts has notified us of her resignation,  Evie has put on some fine events during her duration of holding office for our micro sailors and contributed with the regatta and other water sports activities. Anyone interested in volunteering or taking on this or part of the roles under their belt,  please put yourself forward for a brief discussion of what the role or roles could entail. Don’t say I cant do that !!! till you find out what possibly could be involved. 😊

Tonight, commences the unwinding for some of that hard grinding work week, for others it may just be another night, but for the club it sees James Bolton again behind the bar to serve you all should you choose to attend, and he will be very pleased to see you.

So, until next week then !!

Stay safe and well.

Commodore Colin
