Hi Everyone

At the time of commencing this blog the sun is shining and the breeze was starting to stiffen so I am hoping that you all took full advantage of the weather, however as its now taken a bit of a turn its time to come indoors and finally complete.

So keeping you all informed of up and coming events this Wednesday 18th May morning sees the next coffee and cake the last one was very well supported and we actually manage to raise £90 for the Ukrainian war and refugee appeal so well done to Sue and the team that makes this event happen and for the supplying of all the delicious cakes that are provided. This one the proceeds will go into the club funds for regatta support.

Wednesday and Friday bar openings are still receiving good numbers and Dennis Crompton is now supporting the bar manager as coordinator of the bar rota so if you have done the bar training and wish to do a shift on the bar please contact Dennis directly.

The clubhouse has undergone an intensive deep clean operation to ensure that cleanliness is still a top priority at the club since the pandemic. Those using the facilities will have noticed that the carpets and seating has all been cleaned and all tables refurbished. Please have some consideration when entering the club especially should you have been on the beach or hard and ensure that your footwear is clean when coming up to the bar please and all pet owners while we enjoy the company of your dog’s please refrain from having and allowing them onto the seats.

Micro racing is still continuing to flourish as more and more boats take to the water and the fleet is increasing in competitive strength see sailing calendar for the series race times.

I wish to bring to your attention that the clubhouse will be closed on Thursday evening 2nd June 7-10 pm, However members have been invited to the towns celebratory beach party and candlelit parade to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee 2022 which will be held in the East Compound and Marquee area. This is a Town Council event and the club has no responsibilities regarding this event, however if any members wish to help please feel free to assist and cooperate if necessary. Details are posted up around the Town.

On the Friday 3rd June a similar celebratory experience is also to be held but for residents of Mistley and Lawford at the Welcome Homefield in New Road Mistley near the Cricket Club. This is a day time and evening event with a Fireworks display from the East Hard at the sailing club at 10pm. Again, this is a Town Council event and the club has no responsibilities regarding this event, however if any members wish to help please feel free to assist and cooperate if necessary. Details are posted up around the Town.

There are still some members that have not yet completed their membership renewals for 22-23 you know who you are so sooner rather than later please or speak to Liza the new Membership Secretary.

As a heads up 18th June 2022 is a planned new members evening all members since commencement of the pandemic are welcome to come along meet the management team of Officers etc of the club for a beverage or 2 and nibbles to hopefully get a better understanding of the club in particular and maybe able to assist further or volunteer in some of the roles where we are currently requiring new recruits.

  2. Manningtree Town Regatta is coming soon 16th 17th July 2022 don’t forget to volunteer your services to help where you can. You will be most welcome so get your names in early to Caroline C (Rear Commodore) to be part of this auspicious event to make it the best ever.
